Our aim was to produce an elegant, complex, sophisticated wine that reflects the character of the great wines of Bordeaux – oops – Boronia. Our winemaker – Marcus Gillon has produced a wine that has a "full palette of flavours" which nicely sums up the concept behind our Boronia Blend. This wine is a blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Shiraz.

Appealing aromas of ripe black fruits (cassis, black cherry, black raspberry) mingle with vanilla custard, cinnamon-clove spice and a mild, minty herbaceousness. Smooth and supple in the mouth with ripe, medium-full tannins, the wonderfully concentrated flavours exhibit ripe, plumy black fruits, sweet vanillin oak and notes of roasted coffee bean and mint that linger persistently into the long finish. Complex and elegant our 2008 Boronia Blend certainly benefits from the excellent vintage. It shows every promise of ageing nicely for the next 10 to 15 years.
